I am Peter McKinnon, Visual/Graphic Designer, Art Director and creative tinkerer. I’ve worked for design firms and run my own design studio in Seattle for 15 years. Currently I am working as a freelancer from my home office in Woodinville WA, where for the past 4 years I’ve focused on designing web sites, brochures, design for board games, illustration for books and promotional materials for book launches.
I’m constantly inspired by my clients and the challenges they bring me. Being a designer for 15+ years has given me many opportunities working with others at all levels of an organization and challenged my skills as a designer. As always, I love what I do because I always find new opportunities to learn and grow creatively.

More About Me
McKinnon Design LLC is my graphic design studio where I know how to position clients to their best advantage with smart marketing strategies and high-impact creative design.
Make the communication clear and simple, with well balanced, beautiful design. I collaborate and solve design needs for clients by using services which include brand development, digital print design, website design and development, illustration, publication, and presentation design. My vision and creativity are always balanced with smart project management and customized client services.
My graphic design services are driven by the needs of my clients. I get great pleasure from manifesting the right image and design out of the essence of who my clients are. I really love the challenge of making the plain beautiful, the complex clear, and drawing more attention to my clients.
I use intelligence and experience to take all projects beyond the purely visual with these three objectives in mind:
• How will the design increase awareness?
• How will this approach lead to more sales?
• How will this grow the client’s business?
What I Do
Visual Design: I create strong and agile graphic design that thrives on change. New audiences and new technology generate new demands. Rapid changes in this world have become the norm, and the pace is accelerating every day. Well thought out graphic design captures these opportunities as the market transforms.
Creativity: I consider myself a driven problem-solving designer, by developing and defining visual strategies for graphic standards, promotions, events, and product launches. I have expertise in brand and concept development, illustration, visual design, typography, print, pre-press output, preparing files and managing them for current and future usage. I’ve also developed curriculum graphics for corporate training. I am highly proficient with Adobe Creative Suite applications including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Dreamweaver, Microsoft office, and WordPress projects.
Website Design: I can set up your next WordPress website, from a simple brochure website to an advanced e-Commerce portfolio solution. The focus is on what you as a client desire to achieve in order to create the ideal solution to meet your marketing goals and objectives. If you need a portfolio WordPress website, let’s talk and go over your budget requirements.
For a more content and brand driven website, the fee structure is higher for development time. This will depend on required amount of content, development, implementation, photographs, illustrations, and icon design. Links are important as well, in order to build optimization of search recognition for your website. Instructing on how to manage and change your website content, using WordPress, helps to keep your website fresh.
Your goal should be to look professional with a website presence that matches your desired audience’s expectations.
Passion: All along the way I have maintained a passion for art, specifically watercolor paintings and illustration. I also enjoy Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop digitally generated photographic art and illustrations. See my artwork I do on the website cedarskye.com
